• This report citation is from the ASSF, no additional information provided about who the work was done for.
• Site 1MB71 is reported to have a Tome/Naniaba (Choctaw) component, likely based on the presence of Chickachae Combed pottery, and the report lists “18th Century and 19th Century nonaboriginal” material as well.
• From the site form: “Site 1MB71 was recorded by Warren Carruth, University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama. Located on the west bank of the Tombigbee River, this site is a precontact/historical village. First recorded by N.R. Stowe in the early 1970s, he reported that even then the site had been largely destroyed. Stowe never reported the site to the file, so the number was reused during the Mobile Bay pipeline project by New World Research. In 1994, the numbers were changed at the request of Greg Waselkov, University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama due to the presence of a large, cataloged collection there from Stowe's work. The New World Research 1Mb71 has been reassigned 1Mb166.”
• So, there is a collection at USA CAS, possibly a report copy. There is no report in the ASSF mapper.
