• Revisited 1BA233 numerous times between 2010 and 2012. Pedestrian surveys and 11 “shovel trenches” were monitored (the use of the word trench is misleading, photographs appear to be more of a shovel test than trench), which extended to 20-30 cmbs.
o Only surface artifacts were recovered, totaling 49 pieces although it is unclear exactly how many were kept versus left in the field.
o Diagnostics confirmed the previous range of components, including fiber-tempered sherds to Middle Woodland, Mississippian, and Choctaw (Port Dauphin Incised)/Pensacola; no mention of any artifacts associated with the eighteenth through twentieth century components.
• Site 1BA609 was recorded by USA personnel in 2007 when metal detecting and shovel testing yielded lead shot, copper kettle patch, iron ring, and lead/pewter spillage, interpreted to be related to a French Plantation house (ca. 1760-1800). British, Choctaw, and Waldeck troops (German) attacked the site on January 7, 1781.
o Revisited during oil spill response and found the lot has been developed and no access to the site was possible for survey.
