• Nautical chart of the Gulf of Mexico coast from Matagorda Bay east across the Gulf Coast to Saint Joseph Bay (Florida).
• Compiled following the 1721 expedition undertaken by Devin, Jean B?ranger, and Jean-Baptiste de La Harpe in search of René Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle's 1682 landing site at Matagorda Bay; the latter expedition landed instead at Galveston Bay.
• Part of a 1727 atlas comprised of 115 sheets. This map is Sheet 078. Nearly identical to the 1732 Anonymous map of similar name. Slight differences in word positioning and northern extent. This version contains a key in the top right corner.
• Denotes the “Chateaux,” “Apalaches,” “Mobiliens,” “Nanialia" towns.
