• Depicts North America from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico and from the Rocky Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean.
• This map, taken from the 1721 New General Atlas, is dedicated to William Law and is a translation of the 1718 de L’Isle map.
• The area around Mobile Bay, including the bay, rivers, roads, and Indigenous towns, is exactly the same as the de L'Isle map.
• A partial legend indicates that “Habitations of the Indians,” “Promiscuous Nations,” and “Nations destroyed.” What exactly is meant by a promiscuous nation is unclear, but “Tascaloussa” (Tuscaloosa) is marked as such. - Subject
