• Depicts North America from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico and across to the Atlantic Ocean.
• Inset of Mobile River in bottom right corner. The "Tomez" town is at the fork of the Alabama River and the "Naniaba" are to the north. This is reversed from what is generally accepted as the locations of those towns. The locations (from north to south) of the “Mobiliens,” “Apalaches,” Fort Louis, and “Chattaux” are similar to contemporary maps. However, in the inset, between old Fort Louis and the Apalaches, the villages of the Tensas and Taouchas are identified (not on the larger map).
• The Chahta towns are not included on the map. L'Isle's map is considered a rebuttal to Moll's map of the British colonies.
