• Depicts North America from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, and from the River Mississippi to the Atlantic Ocean Map places Fort Louis at mouth of Mobile River after it moved from 27-mile bluff in 1711.
• A "Chatau" village is shown south of the fort and the "Apalaches" south of the "Old Fort."
• The villages of the "Naniaba," "Tomez," and "Mobiliens" are shown from north to south, north of the "Old Fort."
• The UNC Research Laboratories of Archaeology states the map is a manuscript copy of L'Isle 1718 reproduced in Hulbert (1907-16), ser. III, pl 1-4.
