• The Gulf Coast Survey, based out of the University of Alabama, conducted one month of work in Clarke County supported by a grant from AHC.
• Based effort on “gaps” in recorded sites, which were identified as the salt springs, upland terraces, confluences, and mineral quarry sites, and focused on the southwest portion of the county.
• 55 sites visited, 46 of which were new locations, and 127 collections made from occupations ranging from the Paleoindian to the mid-nineteenth century.
• More coverage of the Tallahatta sandstone outcrops than most reports provide:1CK305 and 1CK306.
• Context provides very brief mention of Tome, Choctaw occupations
